Hello everyone, just to update you all. Mark went into the Hospice on Saturday morning. He is very poorly, but they are making him as comfortable as they possibly can. Mark says that he feels safe there, and that means alot.
Keep my lovely man in your prayers,
Wendy, Matt and Gracie xxx

ReplyDeleteI don’t think Allison and I have ever had the pleasure to meet with you. We were however, honoured to briefly speak with Mat and Gracie last Thursday and I also managed a few brief but priceless moments with Mark that I will cherish forever.
Although on the night there was inevitably an overriding feeling of sadness brought about by Mark’s condition; being there with friends old and new also brought about a sense of camaraderie and even shared laughter at our old memories that lifted our spirits. Many of us felt closer than we have for a long time.
That was only made possible by the courage and dignity demonstrated by Mark, yourself, Mat and Gracie. Thank you all.
A week ago I would have posted some of the funnier memories we recalled for all to share but it doesn’t seem quite appropriate at the moment.
We are deeply saddened to hear that Mark is so poorly, we feel totally helpless; our hearts are breaking for you all.
Rest assured that you and your lovely man will remain constantly in our thoughts.
Gaz and Allison
Hi Wendy
ReplyDeleteYou wont know me but I am an old friend of Mark's from Harper Green School (my thats a long time ago now!). The last time I saw him was at the Harper Green School reunion in 2003, it was lovely seeing him again and he hadn't changed, still smiling, still happy and still that lovely person I knew all those years ago. He talked with affection of his lovely wife and of course his two gorgeous children. I was so sad to hear how poorly he was and it is still very hard to take in. Your very special and "lovely man" is in my thoughts and every night in my prayers - my prayers also include you Wendy and of course your two special children Matt and Gracie. Will keep in touch via your blog. Look after yourself and take care. Please send my love to Mark from his old school pal Jill (Hodgkinson)xxxxx
Dear Wendy,Matt and Gracie.
ReplyDeleteSo so sorry to hear of Marks current condition. In this often very harsh life we all live the very very least Mark deserves is to feel safe when at his most vulnerable, having spent his working life helping others to feel the same way.As you point out Im sure that means a lot to you all.
Continued thoughts and prayers for Mark and all those closest to him.
